WASHINGTON, July 12 (DC Times Online) — Democratic strategist James Carville used a Friday Politicon video to attack what he called “far-left” and “insurgent” Democrats, warning that the party could face a backlash similar to 2016.

Carville said recent wins by left-leaning Democrats showed a deeper problem inside the party. He said Democrats should not “fall for the allure of false prophets” and argued, “It’s not both parties’ faults!”

He also singled out Michigan candidate Abdul El-Sayed, saying the group was “running against both parties.” Carville added, “These people are so f—ing stupid I don’t know what to say about it,” and, “You are part of the problem because you’re a f—ing idiot!”

In the video, Carville pointed to recent Democratic primary winners in New York and Colorado as examples of the trend he was criticizing. He said the party should not let those victories steer it toward what he described as a 2016-style political mistake.
