SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 27 (San Francisco News Online) — NVIDIA on June 22 introduced NVIDIA Halos for Robotics, a safety system the company says ties AI compute, software, sensor data and inspection into one standardized architecture for robotic systems.

The company said the platform is built around NVIDIA IGX Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge for compute and sensor connectivity, NVIDIA Halos OS for software safety functions, and the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab for inspection and certification preparation.

NVIDIA said the architecture draws on more than 18,600 engineering years of autonomous vehicle safety work. The company described Halos for Robotics as a full-stack safety system for robotics and physical AI.

The company said the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab is the first ANAB-accredited program for functional and AI safety for physical AI. NVIDIA said the lab is intended to help partners prepare for third-party certification by organizations including TÜV Rheinland, UL Solutions, TÜV SÜD, exida, SGS and CertX.
