ANKARA, Türkiye, July 8 (DC Times Online) — President Donald Trump said he would return to Washington on the older Air Force One while the new presidential aircraft is sent to Mildenhall Air Force Base in the United Kingdom so U.S. service members can tour it.

Trump said on Truth Social that the new plane was being sent to the base so military members could see it, and that he would take the former Air Force One “for old time’s sake.” In remarks at a press conference after the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, he said the aircraft would stop at several bases, including one where “the soldiers can see it.”

He also said the life of a president is “very dangerous” and that he is “No. 1 on the kill list for Iran” and Iran’s “number one target.” The remarks came without a formal threat assessment in the material reviewed.

The comments followed Trump’s explanation for why he was not using the new aircraft for the return trip. The material reviewed did not include statements from the Pentagon, the Air Force or the Secret Service on the aircraft move or the threat claim.
