CRESTLINE, Calif., July 24 (Inland Empire News Online) — A small black bear pushed open the front door of the Crestline Village Water District office in the San Bernardino Mountains on Wednesday afternoon, wandered through the lobby and left without injuring anyone or damaging the building, according to district surveillance video and staff accounts.

The video showed the bear standing on its hind legs to open the door, then moving through the front area before briefly entering the main office, district staff said. Employees said the bear stayed inside for only a few minutes and then calmly headed back toward the woods.

Office staff said no customers were in the building at the time and that no one was in danger. They reported only nose prints on the doors and around the office.

The district office is in Crestline, in San Bernardino County’s mountain communities, and the incident was captured on video from the water district itself.
