CHELMSFORD, Mass., July 11 (Nationwide Times) — IndyCar has signed a long-term licensing agreement with iRacing Studios to develop the series’ first standalone video game in more than two decades, with releases planned for PlayStation, Xbox and PC through Steam.
IndyCar said the game is scheduled for the second half of 2026 and will be built from the ground up by a dedicated development team using iRacing Studios’ enhanced Orontes engine.
The series said the title will include a multilevel career mode, licensed drivers from the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone, and online multiplayer. IndyCar also said real-world teams and drivers will be involved in development, including Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin.
The new game comes as IndyCar continues its relationship with iRacing’s PC racing service, where the series has been part of the platform for more than a decade. IndyCar said that connection will continue under the new deal, alongside the standalone title.
