MUNICH, June 15 (World Daily Times) — Changan’s Hunter pickup is being marketed in South Africa in range-extended and diesel forms, giving work-truck buyers more powertrain choices, while public materials reviewed by Times Media Service did not include an official China release for a reported 2026 Hunter K50.
Changan Motors South Africa describes the Hunter as a range-extended EV bakkie and lists a 31.2 kW battery, a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, 200 kW of combined power, 350 Nm of torque and a 2,200 kg towing capacity. The site lists pricing from 799,900 rand.
The same official site also lists diesel Hunter variants starting at 449,900 rand for a 2.0-liter 2WD model and 569,900 rand for a 2.0-liter 4WD model. Those versions are listed at 110 kW and 350 Nm.
Materials reviewed by Times Media Service did not include an official Changan China press release, catalog, regulator filing or price sheet confirming a 2026 Hunter K50 launch in China.
The reviewed materials also did not establish whether the South African Hunter specifications match the reported China-market Hunter K50 or how any 2026 update would differ by trim, range or drivetrain.
