ROYAL OAK, Mich., July 6 (Our Michigan Times) — Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow ended her Democratic U.S. Senate campaign on Saturday, leaving U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed as the only candidates in the Aug. 4 primary for an open seat held by Democratic Sen. Gary Peters, who is not seeking reelection.

McMorrow said in a statement posted to X that whoever wins the primary will have her “full support.”

Her exit turns what had been a three-way race into a two-candidate contest weeks before Michigan Democrats choose their nominee.

The winner of the primary is expected to face former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers in the fall, according to the reports.
