VICTORVILLE, Calif., July 17 (High Desert News Online) — Costco food courts at several California warehouses have quietly added chicken strips, a $6.99 item that comes with five pieces and a dipping sauce.

Workers at stores in Alhambra, Los Feliz and on Rosedale Highway in Bakersfield said the new item appeared July 11. A Santa Rosa employee said the strips arrived July 6, and a Concord worker said they had been on the menu for a few days by July 15.

At the Victorville warehouse at 14555 Valley Center Drive, the food court is also serving crispy chicken strips for $6.99, according to menu observations. The serving is listed at 1,130 to 1,640 calories.

At the California locations checked, the chicken strips have replaced Costco’s calzone. Store signs describe the sauce as a creamy orange dip.
