KEY WEST, Fla., July 7 (Our Florida Times) — Kevin Renly won the 2026 World Famous Key Lime Pie Eating Championship in Key West, Florida, finishing a 9-inch Key lime pie in 59.60 seconds on July 4, according to CBS News Miami and the Key West Chamber of Commerce.

Renly told Fox News that his approach was to clear away the whipped cream first, then flip the pie over and eat the crust, which he described as the hardest part. The contest rules, published by the chamber, bar contestants from using their hands or utensils, and allow goggles or dive masks.

The annual contest is part of the Key Lime Festival and draws as many as 25 contestants, the chamber said. It has become one of the festival’s signature events in the Florida Keys.

Fox News reported that Renly, 62, lives in the Florida Keys and had finished second in the contest in 2024 and 2025 before winning on his third try. CBS News Miami said he operates Southernmost Bees.
