MIAMI, July 23 (Our Florida Times) — Burger King is changing how it handles service and sandwich complaints, and the company says the shift comes from listening to customers.
In an official announcement published from Miami, the chain said it is adding a new restaurant manager-style role called the Your Way Champion and a Whopper Guarantee that aims to make it easier to fix mistakes with its signature burger.
What is the Your Way Champion?
Burger King describes the Your Way Champion as a reimagined restaurant manager role. The company says the person will have a dedicated uniform and act as a point person for guests. The job is meant to focus on hospitality, customization and making sure orders are handled the way customers asked.
In simple terms, Burger King is trying to put one person in charge of the guest experience so problems can be solved faster.
What is the Whopper Guarantee?
The Whopper Guarantee is Burger King’s promise to remake a Whopper on the spot if it does not meet a customer’s expectations. The company also says the guest can get a free Whopper on their next visit, and that redemption can be handled with a QR code.
Burger King did not spell out every rule for the guarantee in its announcement, including how long the QR code is valid or whether there are limits on which Whopper versions qualify.
Why is Burger King making these changes?
Burger King said the changes were driven by customer feedback gathered earlier in the year through phone calls and text messages. The company said thousands of customers responded.
Tom Curtis, president of Burger King US and Canada, has said the chain heard concerns that the Whopper can arrive squished or that the bun is not quite right. Burger King said the new service steps are meant to make it easier to meet customer expectations and fix problems when they happen.
How does this connect to the Whopper updates Burger King already made?
The service changes build on earlier updates to the Whopper itself. In February, Burger King said it refreshed the sandwich for the first time in nearly 10 years with a glazed bun, creamier mayonnaise and clamshell-style packaging instead of paper.
Burger King said the beef patty stayed the same: more than a quarter-pound of 100% flame-grilled beef.
Curtis and Restaurant Brands International CEO Joshua Kobza have both said the redesigned sandwich was getting positive feedback. Kobza also said on the company’s earnings call that the update was helping Whopper sales.
What is still unclear?
Burger King has not said whether the Your Way Champion role will be added to every restaurant or only some locations. The company also has not said whether the Whopper Guarantee applies to all Whopper variations or just the standard burger.
No Florida restaurant-specific rollout details were announced, so the change appears to be a companywide service move rather than a local one.
For now, the main takeaway is simple: Burger King is trying to back up its food with a stronger promise on service, order accuracy and complaint handling.
