SAN MATEO, Calif., July 8 (San Francisco News Online) — Waymo’s robotaxi service in San Mateo stopped a ride and alerted police after two 15-year-old boys allegedly drank alcohol and fired toy pellets inside the vehicle, San Mateo police said.

Police said officers detained the boys Monday afternoon and later released them to their parents. No one was injured.

San Mateo police said Waymo contacted them after the passengers’ behavior was detected. The car pulled over and remained stopped until officers arrived.

Police said officers found toy gel blasters and alcohol inside the vehicle. Waymo’s support page says that in more urgent circumstances, support may access live video during a trip. As of the latest reporting, police had not announced charges.
