UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — A Wendy’s in Union, South Carolina, is at the center of a food-tampering case after police said employees allegedly pulled a customer’s remade drive-thru meal from the trash, spat on it and served it back.

Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item, according to reporting that cited Union police. Available reporting does not make clear whether Holley was arrested.

Police said the customer complained about the first meal, and staff offered to remake the order before the customer drove away. The alleged tampering happened before the food was served again, according to the police account summarized in the reporting.

Fox News reported that all three employees were charged. A separate report citing Union police said Sanders and Rice were arrested, while the restaurant disciplined a third employee, and the available reporting does not fully explain Holley’s status.

One report placed the incident on May 31, while another cited police records saying it happened on May 30 at the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass.
